I’m a Magento eCommerce project manager & solutions specialist. Since 2008 I have focused on documenting, building and managing Magento project solutions for online retailers. Whether it‘s detailing workflows, building timelines & budgets or directing teams of developers, I manage my projects and clients with attentive listening, understanding and care for their businesses.
Aside from my full time positions listed, I have also been freelance consulting since 1999 in a wide range of design & development projects. I am passionate about gardening, travelling to all the US National Parks, and a Chicago Blackhawks enthusiast.
The Dreslyn | Los Angeles, CA
At The Dreslyn, I manage all online product & shopping experiences at our retail website. Working closely with the three company stakeholders, I am in charge of supporting strategy and leading the execution of all projects, improvements & tasks. I develop, communicate & deliver project roadmaps, plans & timelines to drive our growth & deliver to our goals. From >1M annually in 2014, our sales have increased by $1M year over year by our laser focus on page load speed optimization, page caching efforts & constant user experience improvements. Daily, I analyze GA metrics, manage all development projects & work tickets, do all front-end coding & code deployments, assist with all product launches, manage all 3rd party vendor integrations, and also stay focused on our 2020 Magento 2 replatform project.
LyonsCG | Chicago, IL
During my time at LyonsCG, I led the BA effort in gathering & documenting technical requirements for a $1M+ Magento 2 replatform project. Working with stakeholders across multiple departments, I documented functional designs to rebuild custom features, extensions & integrations. This included end to end process analysis workflows, user story & acceptance criteria deliverables within the Agile framework. I worked closely with the delivery team to ensure the client’s business interests were always represented; and I stayed in around the clock communication with the overseas & domestic teams to successfully implement the product solutions.
Rocket Web | Naperville, IL
At Rocket Web, I was a technical project manager for 25+ Magento projects and clients in the time I worked there, at times managing up to 10 build & maintenance projects at once. I was the first project manager the company hired to manage all existing clients and internal projects. I created detailed and complex project timelines & milestones for projects ranging from $30k to $300K+ spanning 18 months, as well as managed tasks and budgets for ongoing, monthly clients. I effectively assigned & monitored the flow of resources to projects in order to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
50,000Feet | Chicago, IL
As a member of the technical team at 50000feet, I worked on Magento1 CE & EE builds both large and small. Collaborating with creative leadership & stakeholders, I created UX process maps, wireframes, workflows and prototypes of features and full sites. Leading the projects into the implementation process, I also created project plans, timelines & technical documentation to ensure the projects were managed through the delivery process. I also assisted the sales team to understand customer needs & build estimates for all new, incoming technical work.
FLOR, Inc | Chicago, IL
In my first year at FLOR, we migrated to the e-commerce platform to Magento 1.4EE, giving me extensive experience in the setup and management of an online retail store. Having worked with Joy at FLOR I knew she would be the one to call to help with our magento projects. I truly appreciate how fast she understands our business needs and end goals, is mindful of timelines, all the while maintaining great communication. She shows patience for those less technical at the same time explaining what she is doing. Always a great attitude and a pleasure to work with!
Joy, as her name says too, is joyful and active. Her personality has a way to take over the work in a good way. Joy is everywhere and handles different plates of responsibilities at the same time & with a smile. I worked closely with Joy on a couple projects and I put a lot of weight on her shoulders. She acted as a buffer between our dev team and the client. She was always able to sort something out for our team.
Joy is very personable and after a brief meeting understood exactly what changes and additions I wanted to have done with my site. The updates were done in record time. She listened to what I wanted my site to do and was able to come back with the finished product looking better than I could have imagined. I would reccomend her to anyone looking to build a website or modify an existing one.
Joy was a very pleasant person to work on the same team as. She was always willing to help when projects arise and additionl assistance is required. Joy was also willing to listen and provide feedback on issues that would arise, so they could be resolved in an efficient and effective manner.
